stormwater

This website was founded by a lawyer with over 12 years experience.

The objective of this site is to inform and educate the public about stormwater permits, thereby improving the environment.
The three most common stormwater permits are:
  • Industrial General Permit;
  • Construction General Permit; and
  • MS4 Permit.

Typically, a facility must obtain coverage under a general permit to be allowed to discharge pollutants (stormwater runoff) into the ground or waterbody to a limited extent. Discharges must comply with effluent limitation guidelines. In some instances, an Individual Permit may be required if the facility is substantially unique and the permit requires tailoring.

Each facility site is responsible for stormwater permit coverage compliance.

Requirements for stormwater permits may vary depending on the state or jurisdiction.
